• Hi there, The remote uses an IR signal which requires a line of sight for it to work. ~Ralph

• Yes, the remote needs line of sight to function. It does not operate if I hold my hand in front of the remote.

• IN MY HOUSE IT NEEDS CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT. IF I HAD IT TO DO OVER AGAIN THOUGH, ID GET THE NEXT STEP DOWN AND SAVE A COUPLE OF HUNDRED DOLLARS. NO APPRECIABLE DIFFERENCE AT ALL
