I don't know your particular setup, but I do have 7 speakers plus subwoofer all connected and working together at the same time (front L/R, center, back L/R, atmos L/R, sub).

The Mid range speaker plays voices, the back two speakers play background sounds, base speaker plays base, Front speakers play sounds. We have had surround sound for years but this is the best that we have heard it.
