In Zone 2 you can connect speakers to the SPEAKERS ZONE 2 (*1) or SPEAKERS SURROUND BACK/HEIGHT (*2) terminals. It will not (by itself) support a sub woofer in Zone 2, but you can install and use one more receiver or amplifier in Zone 2 by connecting the receiver/amplifier installed in Zone 2 to the AUDIO ZONE 2 OUT jacks of the receiver installed in main zone (and it can have a sub-woofer. However, you need to be aware that there are restrictions on the audio sources that can be used in Zone 2 or the HDMI zone. You can simultaneously play music in Zone 2, but you cannot watch video in Zone 2 and sound is not available from devices connected to the HDMI IN jacks. The DN1080 is a great unit.
