Hi TomiTV, yes, you can never go wrong with our soundbars. This soundbar will work even if your TV does not support an ARC hook up. The best way to use this with your TV is with an optical + HDMI connection. Once you have this setup, no features on your TV will be lost. Regards, -Mark
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just upgraded to the HTX900F from an older model Sony bar. If your TV does not have HDMI, it can still connect via digital optical or analog headphones/audio out. My cable box HDMI output went out right as the bar arrived so I had the analog audio hooked up for a few days. I was really impressed by how good it sounded. This bar is 2.1 so it is not exactly producing 7.1 surround sound. But the audio is way better than the TV speakers. I am not sure how Bravia audio is but I would venture to say that you would still be happier with this quality if you are currently using the TV speakers.

The soundbar Sony system also has an analog jack on the back. I believe the only features you would loose is looking at the menu for the soundbar on your tv.
