“I got the Soundbar for my Sony X900F 4K TV. I will be installing a Sony 4K Player. I understand that the 4K Player gets connected to the Soundbar via HDMI and the Soundbar to the TV's HDMI3/ARC input. I have a Cable Box on the TVs HDMI1 port. Is this OK?”

With the cable box connected to the TV HDMI1 the SB remote was unable to do anything. So what I did as according to the manual and until I get my 4K Player, I moved the cable box from TV HDMI1 to the SB HDMI input. Now the SB remote works as it should. I can even set the Vertical Sound on and use all the functions on the SB remote. So for anyone who just has the 4K TV and SB along with a cable box, connect the cable box to the SB HDMI input port.

It will produce a sound coming from any HDMI devices connected to the TV or to the soundbar.
