“How to connect to Samsung BN64-02175a-00 I can't figure out a way to connect the sound bar to this type of Samsung. There is no HDMI out nor am I able to utilize the optical cord that it came with. The only open slot is the EX-LINK.”

I have a very similar Samsung and the only way to connect using an optical cable is with a special adapter that should have come with the Samsung. It will look like a 3.5mm jack (headphone jack) on one end and will have a S/PDIF connector on the other. Just do a Google search for "Samsung optical adapter" and you'll see it and hopefully you still have it in one of your drawers.
