Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a bravia xbr55x850c. Even though both products are from Sony they do not play along just as well as one would expect. I keep two remotes, one to operate the TV and other for the sound bar. I tried the IR blaster thingy but all it does is change the volume. You still need the second remote to change the input mode or wake the sound bar panel.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Sony TV and Sony sound bar. My TV turns on when I turn on the sound bar. I don't know if you will get the same results with a Samsung TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also have my Samsung Smart TV connected to this soundbar via the optical cable, and it doesn't turn on/off when I turn on/off my TV. Not sure if this is something you can program, but it doesn't work out of the box. Thanks.

The “BRAVIA” Sync function allows communication between Sony products such as TVs, Blu-ray Disc players, DVD players, and AV amplifiers that support the Control for HDMI function. Control for HDMI is a mutual control function standard used by HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) for HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface). The BRAVIA™ Theater Sync feature allows communication between Sony® TVs and other Sony products through the use of an HDMI connection. Only Sony products with HDMI-control capability are supported. Samsung may have a similar feature, but cannot guarantee.- Oscar.
