Sound lag soundbar Just bought the 2.1 Sony Soundbar ($199) to go with Sony 48" Bravia. Connected via audio optical cable. Sound lag. Followed directions to un-sync audio. Still does it. Are there settings on TV for video/sound to help? Would HDMI cable eliminate lag? Should we go to old-fashioned RCA hookup with stereo shelf system and return Soundbar? The lag drives us crazy while watching.

Some sound lag occurs with our Sony tv, even without the sound bar. I noticed it on live feeds from reporters during the news. But it does not occur during the regular programming. I would not use the soundbar if it occurs all the time. Our Sony sounds great without it.

I would use the ARC HEMI cable (but optical should work) and go to TV settings to choose the correct audio out which prompts you to turn on the Sync feature. If this does not solve the problem, go to Sony Support online and chat with a technician and he can walk you through solving the problem.

Hi Frank,
Please check the optical cable first. Second, try using HDMI connection and RCA analog connection. If you're still getting the same result, kindly reset your devices to the factory default settings. Thanks,
