“When in HDR mode you can't make any picture adjustments and at least on my model it looks worse than SDR, anyone know a fix for this or I'm sending it back my 300$ Asus looked better.”

Actually my old Asua PG27u had issues with SDR. In windows 11 with the Sony, I can turn on HDR, then using Win11, you can adjust SDR brightness. As long as you did the HDR calibration in Win11, it looks fine.
