“I have settled on this TV-THE sony x800H. My stand is very heavy and bought 12 years ago to support any flat screen size. my stand is 36 and 1/2 wide??Will this fit on top?”

TV stand has two legs, they require 22" of width to fit on a table or console. The TV is about 38" wide, so you will have to have a set up that allows for a few inches of overhang, since your stand is only 36" wide.

We highly recommend using the supplied stand of the unit. The XBR43X800H screen width is 970mm / 38 3/16 inches and the stand width is 544mm / 21 7/16 inches. If you're going to put the TV on a table stand. You will need a wider width for clearance. You may find this link helpful.
