“Just bought this TV and have DirectTv. Blu Ray movies look great. However, my cable channels such as ESPN, TNT, etc. don't look that great and the display says it is in 1080i. Is there anyway I can make the cable look better? I have the TV in sport mode”

Ok here is the deal Directv is by far the best tv service for home it even outperforms fios. You need to set it to 720p because 720p generates much more quickly then 1080i what you are seeing is bluriness from the time it takes to generate the picture in 1080i In the future there will be more brodcasted channels in 1080p but hardly anything is yet. People get confused because they think because the number is higher on 1080i that it is better then 720p but make no mistake progressive is way better then interlaced except when it is a still picture you are looking at. Also remember always run progressive for sports or action movies everything really. If it will run in 1080p great but if it wont then 720p is the best choice. You can respond so people know this works but I guarantee it will resolve your problem and you will be very happy.
