Any network connected device has the potential for someone to snoop, depending on what your definition of snoop is. To my knowledge, this TV does not have a camera so someone shouldn't be able to see inside the room. However, it has a microphone and android operating system so, depending on what apps you choose to install or are already installed, the potential for someone to snoop exists. The list of possible snoopers varies from Sony, Google, your ISP, to a hacker. Sony and Google have opt-out checkboxes buried in the settings, but that doesn't necessarily mean they don't collect other bits of information that isn't considered sensitive or identifiable to the end user. You can just not connect the TV to your network if you are that worried about a snooper but your ISP will still be able to monitor what programs you watch. I guess you could always just buy this nice TV, not connect it to anything, and get an antenna to receive over-the-air broadcast HD channels for a worry free snooping experience.
