You need to plug the sound system into the HDMI port labeled eARC/ARC, and make sure your system supports either ARC or eARC features.

Please try again later.Hi Volume, To gain full, uninfluenced volume control using your Home Theater remote and prevent your Sony BRAVIA 3 TV from overriding the levels, you must disable the HDMI control feature known as BRAVIA Sync. Please access your TV's settings by pressing the Quick Settings button on your remote, navigating to Settings, selecting Channels & Inputs, choosing External inputs, and finally ensuring that BRAVIA Sync control is switched to Off. Once this feature is deactivated, the TV will no longer send volume commands to your home theater system via the HDMI connection, giving your sound system's remote independent and dedicated control.
