Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My old TV ( heavier, though smaller, old Sony plasma TV) was hauled away when this new Bravia 55” was delivered and set up. There was no charge for this service, but I’m also a TotalTech member and thus had no charges for the delivery and installation/ hookups of the TV and a new Denon receiver at the same time, as well as the disposal of the old TV. My receipt shows the amount I would have been charged (but wasn’t) for each of the services — and thus how much I saved by being a TotalTech member — and for the haul away it would have been $29.99. (This purchase was in a Chicago-area Best Buy store; I don’t know whether these service charges may be different in different locations.) The amount I paid for the TotalTech 1-year membership, when I bought the TV and receiver, was $199.99. The list of the costs of the individual services (delivery/ installation of TV and receiver and connections necessary to make everything work together, and the haul-away) were, according to the receipt, a total cost much more than the TotalTech membership. Frankly, this is the only benefit I’ve experienced from having the TotalTech membership. The actual support line, which has many problems (being bounced around from one department to another — often the wrong departments! — calls being dropped and customer-service people not being allowed to call me back, thus my having to make multiple calls & start all over again describing the problems), is terrible. It has many systemic problems, so just be aware of this if you aren’t a Total Tech member and decide to become one to save on the delivery and other charges — compare the cost of the membership to the total cost of the various services you might need, depending on the nature of your order, to see if it’s worth it. (Yes, TotalTech membership does give you a longer time period for returns/ exchanges — 60 days for most items — so that could be an important factor if you have to return items to be replaced with different ones.)
