  • QuestionWhat is included in "free installation"? I recognize extras like brackets, harnesses would not be included - will they make sure each of my factor speakers are working correctly and if not will they troubleshoot the issue? Not very clear. Thank You

    • Answer The Sony stereo is junk, Best Buy has replaced mine twice. I now have a third one in my van and it quit working again today. I will be calling Best Buy tomorrow. To answer your question more directly, the reason they had to replace the first one is because the USB would not recognize any USB consistently. Your friend...

The XAV-AX1000 does not support wireless Apple CarPlay. To use Apple CarPlay, you will need to connect your iPhone directly to the unit using a compatible USB cable. The unit does have Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming and hands-free calling, but CarPlay requires the wired USB connection. You can easily pair your Android phone wirelessly using standard Bluetooth to make hands-free phone calls and stream your favorite music or podcasts through your car speakers. However, this specific model does not support Android Auto. This means you cannot mirror your Android phone's navigation apps, like Google Maps, or view your text messages directly onto the stereo's touchscreen. That specific on-screen feature only works with Apple iPhones on this unit. If having your Android phone's maps and apps right on the screen is a must have for you, we would be happy to recommend a different model. You can fix the daytime screen glare on your XAV-AX1000 by changing the dimmer setting from Auto to Off, adjusting the wallpaper to a bright picture, or manually turning up the screen brightness in the display menu. -Go to the display settings and change the dimmer mode to Off so the screen stays at full brightness during the day. -Manually set the brightness slider to maximum in the settings menu instead of letting the stereo guess the light level.
