  • QuestionMy backup camera is connected to my reverse light, red to power and black to ground. I also hooked up the yellow end to the back of the receiver. What do I do with the red wire on the camera line and a purple/white wire labeled reverse in on the receiver?

    • Answer Make sure you have the wiring correct. I had the black and red reversed and once I switched them I had no problems. One is power and the other is ground. I ran the power to the back up light on the passenger side.

  • QuestionIs there another USB wire from the back that can be used for CarPlay and tucked into a better place by the installer? Or is the only access to CarPlay from the front USB port?

    • Answer It does not work properly. as my daughter drives her car, it delays the direction. As she drive if she’s supposed to make a right or left turn. It doesn’t saying it till after she passes the location. then it says it. it was a lousy job. I’m disappointed once again at Best Buy, we will be bringing it back to get fixed. She is in college and she has to find a time to fix it. Hopefully they will fix it. This is very dangerous.

    • Answer If you purchase this from Best Buy, the installation is free. Just a small tip, if you have steering wheel controls, the wiring is separate. I paid for that at the store.

    • Answer Yes, this unit has dual outputs. It can be wired around the car's amplifier. This unit has both pre-amp and amplifier (direct to speakers) outputs. My car has a separate amplifier so I use the pre-amp outputs. If your car amplifier went bad, you could wire the amplifier outputs to your speakers, bypassing your car's amplifier. You could run wires from the 4 speaker outputs of the Sony unit to the car's speakers which should all be available at your car's amplifier, then unplug the car's amplifier. The internal amplifier of the Sony unit will then power your speakers.
