“How do you update the unit? I downloaded firmware 2.00 from the sony website and put the files onto the root folders of a 16gb fat32 usb drive and the unit says: Please visit the support site and connect the USB device (with Update firmware) to USB port”

For complete instructions on how to update the XAVAX3250, please check our software update page https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/mobile-cd-players-digital-media-players-xav-series/xav-ax3250/software/00274578 Please make sure that: At least 10 MB of available space A maximum of 32 GB of USB memory device (FAT16/FAT32) Note: A USB memory device with exFAT format is not supported. Unzip the downloaded zip file. Note: There are 3 files: RBSO2001.FIR, RBMC2001.U88, and RBDS2001.up6. Copy all 3 files to the root directory of the USB memory device that is connected to your computer. If the message Please visit the support site and connect the USB device (with Update firmware) to USB port is displayed on the car stereo, check the files in the USB memory device as it may not contain the correct update file.
