It's because you'll need extra things to install the radio. At a minimum, it's going to add a trim kit that will make your radio fit correctly in your dash since a factory radio trim kit will no longer fit when you replace your radio. Also, if you have a factory radio amplifier in your car (Usually with Toyota's, you'll see JBL listed on the door or the radio itself. I have no idea how other manufacturers indicate this.) then you'll also need an amplifier adapter kit- unless you want to rewire all of the speakers in your car to bypass the car's built-in amplifier. It will also add an adapter to retain any steering wheel controls you have.
