• Optical audio out is an old standard it should work with your receiver. I use it on my soumdbar which is going on 3 years old now.

• Yes, Geek squad hooked mine up to my older Sony stereo and it sounds great. They used an optical cable that I had to buy separately but we'll worth the money.
