HDR content preserves details in the darkest and brightest areas of a picture that are lost using current Ultra HD.

Ultra HD or our 4k TVs are 4 times the 1080p resolution, while the High Dynamic Range ones are the same with Ultra HD but it has a higher level of contrast between light and dark images on the screen to create a much more realistic image.
