“I walked into a Best Buy and there was a 1080p blu ray version of Iron Man 2 on a A90J and a Samsung QN90A. There was much pixelation and fuzziness on the A90J and the QN90A looked so crisp. Is Sony not that good at upscaling lower resolution content?”

I have had my 65 inch Sony A90J for three weeks. I have found that it does an excellent job of upscaling HD to 4K. The A90J produces an awesome picture both in color reproduction and sharpness. No regrets in buying the A90J.

Please try again later.As you might have read or heard, SONY is considered by most people in the industry as well as AV hobbyists as having THEE BEST ”upscaling” in the business. What you saw does NOT match up with professional comparisons, at all. Obviously, you need to account for S T O R E issues (bad hdmi cable, etc.) There is a multitude of explanations for what you apparently experienced. But THAT is just inconsistent with the norm.
