“Can the stand be taken off and a new stand that is in middle be bought to hold the tv in the middle instead of the ends as the picture shows?”

No. The stand is engineered and designed specifically for this television to allow a soundbar to be positioned beneath the set with a table top installation. The stand also provides a minimalist profile that compliments its appearance. A different center mounted stand would have to be designed to ensure proper balance with the television’s width being the primary consideration.
