Yes on the brightness. I've had this TV for a little over a month and highly recommend. With the high refresh rate, it is ideal for watching sports. I cut the cord, so I stream live TV. But any lag I've experienced, which has been very rare, I attribute to my internet and not the TV. In short, I'm very pleased with this TV and I think you will be too.
