“I have heard that you need a different wall mount if you have wood studs instead of steel studs. I am interested in a swivel wall mount with this TV. I was told if it is a steel studs a swivel wall mount won't work. Is that true?”

Hi Alan, Thank you so much for your inquiry. For safety reasons and product protection, we recommend using only the supplied TV stand. For wall mounting, to make sure that the installation is performed correctly, Sony strongly recommends that the installation of our TV performed by a qualified professional. Wall mounts come in many shapes and sizes. The various shapes and sizes are meant to try and meet the performance needs, space or wall requirements, desired styles, and safety. The difference lies between the hardware that is used to attach the bracket to the wall for proper support. Wooden stud installations use lag bolts that screw directly into the stud while metal stud installations require hardware such as toggle bolts, drill toggle, or snap toggles to secure into the metal stud.
