Buy the 900F, go to Rtings.com and look up both models. It scores speak for themselves.

Please try again later.My local Best buy had both on display right next to each other and there is a significant difference in color contrast (darker blacks) from the 800 to the 900 due to the edge lit dimming of the 800 versus the array dimming of the 900. Also for sports and a tv this big you’ll notice the 60hz refresh rate and wish you got a tv with at least 120hz refresh rate. If you don’t care too much about the color contrast but still want the better refresh rate I think they sell an 850 which still has edge lit dimming but with 120hz refresh and will still save you some money over the 900.
