“Why did Sony release a large TV like this with only one position for the legs that is so wide apart? Other manufacturers have the intelligence to include an interior position for the legs in order to make it so the TV can be placed on any stand.”

Hi MichaelZ, Thank you for inquiring about the XBR-75X800H. We apologize, the X800H’s stand is not adjustable. This unit doesn't have multiple mount positions for the legs. For models that have the 2-way stand options, please check out the X950H, A8H, Z8H, or A90J series (2-way stand available for 55" and 65" class). Regards, Jess
