Hello Brian, Kindly check the following lenses: SEL16F28, SEL1670Z and SEL35F18 because of their wide angle capability they are ideal for night portrait or shooting. Dave
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 16-50 lenses is very good in darker conditions like in a nightclub but the zoom is not great. Best for more close up and short range. There are a ton of really good lenses for this camera. Good camera for your needs but get another lense if you are going to want close ups beyond 15-20ft.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 16-50mm Lens that typically comes with this product does an excellent job of capturing images in low light, and fast action shots. You have the zooming magnification capability of both the 3x+ Optical, and additional 3x+ internal Digital zoom. The unit F/stops down sufficiently for various colored lighting, and you can set the White Balance to Auto, or set the Balance for specific type of night life lighting to meet the needs of your shots. If you will be further away from the intended subject(s), you could select the 50-210 Lens or other manufacturers product to meet your needs. The A6000's Exposer Control wheel is directly on top of the camera, the ISO goes quite high for Night shoots, and of course you have Auto Exposure Bracketing capability thus taking multiple exposures per shot. My own experience in lower light settings with this product has been very good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Anything with a wide aperture should be just fine. The ISO on thing is crazy, should you should be able to get some quality shots.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Rather than just upgrading lenses, I would try the 16-50 kit lens and see how high you can set the ISO and still get good images. Then look at if you need to spend the money. Lenses are limited and Metabones adapters are pricey. The 16mm wide angle is great for that situation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The camera does have a nice flash built into it and does a great job. I don't know if Sony has a F2.8 lens for it, but it would be nice.
