When Sony bought Konica-Minolta they made a good decision to keep using A-mount lenses. Sony users immediately have a lot of great lens to choose from Minolta's legendary lenses. And since Sony also kept the image stabilization inside the camera body and not in the lens ( unlike Nikon and Canon ), any lens you use would immediately become an image stabilized lens. On cropped sensor cameras, IQ would be good since most sweet spot is around the center anyway.
