Hi TBarrows, You are correct! The latest firmware for the BDPS1700U model is M30.R.0527. While we can’t provide the exact firmware version a specific unit ships with, new models sold today are generally loaded with the most recent version or a version very close to it. However, we still strongly recommend that you connect the player to the internet right away and check the Software Update setting on the Home Screen menu to ensure you have the absolute latest version installed for the best performance.
