“What setting do you use for 7.1 sound? Cannot get 7.1 working. I must be missing in the setup. Help”

• Make sure CONTENT is encoded with digital 7.1 sound, not all are. Most sound is encoded in AC3, 5.1 dolby or dts. The player will only pass on the signal on to the surround system and the surround system must be equipped to decode 7.1 digital dolby or dts signal or above.

• I had the same problem, which the manual doesn't address. Finally figured it out: in the audio setup mode, the unit defaults to "Stereo." To get either 7.1 or 5.1 sound, you need to change "Stereo" to "Surround." That should do it.

• reading online it will not. DTS goes down to 2 channel only. returning this myself.
