I didn’t have turn on any settings. Maybe you have the mic plugged into the wrong jack? Maybe? In my daughter’s Accord, the mic in place is place in the center of the dash right above the clock, and it picks up her voice very well. There is also the possibility the mic itself is defective.

You have to accept the ability to call using Bluetooth on your phone. You can always hear audio (them talking) but you might not have granted the Bluetooth permission to use the microphone
