Hi Bluespower, Thanks for your inquiry! Speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. Yes, all core series speakers support the same type of speaker wiring. Also, take note that when determining which wire gauge to use, consider how far away the speakers are from your amplifier or A/V receiver. Generally, for short speaker wire runs, a 16-gauge wire is sufficient. However, for longer speaker wire runs (to another room, for example), it is better to use a thicker, lower-gauge wire. Hope this helps! -Sam
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on how long your wire runs are going to be. Personally I go with 12 gauge wire, which is good for short or long runs. Typically the longer you plan on running a wire the lower gauge you want but shouldn’t need anything lower than 12 awg. And don’t go higher than 18 awg if you don’t have to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use 16 gauge AWG for all speakers on our system. It doesn't matter what speaker you are using. They all use the same wire.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most center speaker applications do not require a long run of speaker wire so I would not worry so much about gauge, but instead consider quality. For My Mains, I just upgraded from 15 yr old 4 ga wires to 'Cardis 101' which is 14 ga. a rather small gauge and they sound perfect.
