I don't recommend it with this particular camera, most Sony cameras are a pain for action shots due to the way you have to hold the shutter to get the subject in focus, then release to get the shot. And if you have just the tiniest bit of movement, where you can't hold the camera perfectly still {like a statue in a park still} and NOT MOVE AT ALL, your "action photo" will come out blurred and practically unusable! Buy a little more expensive camera that can handle a small amount of movement and can capture action scenes with the press of the shutter that uses auto-focusing techniques. You'll be much happier with your action shots with one like this as opposed to this particular camera, which will let you down and make you very disappointed in using it for action or detailed shots.
