It's an amazing camera. Sony cameras are great in low light. This camera shoots fast which is great for action and pets. It's my favorite all around camera and the one I have been happiest with from all the point and shoot cameras. If I could get the newer version SONY DSCRX10M3 I would as it has a larger zoom. I have been very happy with this camera. Buy the extended warranty if you plan on using it a lot, I do with all of my cameras.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I own both an a7s, which is a low light monster, and the RX10ii. If you are not a pro and can only afford 1 camera than the RX10ii is it. It does fairly well in low light, especially static objects where using low shutter speeds combined with 5 stops of image stabilization on a backlit 20 megapixel sensor yields surprising decent results. If I was starting out again, I would definitely start with this camera before getting into the expensive DSLR game.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. f2.8 aperture with 1" sensor is pretty bright for night time photos without a flash. Nonetheless, it's not going to do magic which is where the built-in flash helps.
