Yes. You may need ds4->xinput emulator for some games not compatible with the controller out the box

You do not need a PS4 to use this controller. The dongle provided allows you to connect it to a PC.

Yes. Any game or other program that recognises gamepads should work. If you go a step farther and use a controller wrapper, like DS4Win, you can get 100% compatibility by emulating X-Input or even keyboard and mouse.

Yes, the controller is synced to the dongle and that dongle is recognized by windows. I have used the controller very easy plug and play with Rocket League and other steam games.

It does not plug and play like a Xbox controller due to modified x-input so the wireless adapter is necessary. The recommended PC use is through Remote Play application.

You would have to look online for PC programs to map the controller. I used Input Mapper and it works for most if not all of my games on steam.

The USB port that comes with it is what allows you to sync the controller to a pc/laptop

Well yes, you can use any Dualshock 4 Playstation 4 controller using the USB cable or simply connecting it using Bluetooth to use the controller to play any game on the PC. I recommend the application "DS4Windows" if you use the controller like this.
