This is probably a dumb question but I have a Sony a6400 and need a wider angle lens. Since the lens is already APS-C would my camera also have impact on the crop factor. Like would it will equivalent to 33 mm or would my camera still be 16.5mm equivalen? null

Yes, if you use an APS-C camera with an APS-C or full frame wide-angle lens, your picture will still experience 1.5x  crop factor. The focal range is a standardize number. For APS-C lenses, noticed the size and range difference compared to a lens design for full frame, they are designed with the crop factor in mind. Thank you for reaching out.
