• They fit over your ears to they block out noise in that regard but there is no active noise cancellation going on with these headphones. They do get quite loud however.

• These aren't noise canceling headphones, and they won't work fantastic in the yard. But, as far as I know, if you want to wear them that much you could crank up the volume but that would be uncomfortable
