This is an amazing lens and is rated among the $3-4,000 lens that are out there! But as with all high end photography; Lens, Lighting, Camera... You see, the lens is what's between the camera Sensor and reality... bad lens, won't matter you have a 20, 40, 80mb sensor on the camera. The lens is what makes a big difference, then having proper lighting because if there isn't enough light to get all of the details, well you can't see in the dark and neither can your camera (Yes, I know that there are sensors that can "see in the dark" but those are specialty and not professional, prosumer grade) and finally, the camera senor as it captures the closest to reality that it can and it can only capture what the lens and lighting allows it to. Also important is that this is a 1:1 lens, so you are capturing reality 1:1 without the lens distorting the image being captured. So coming full circle, this lens would easily be used to get ultra highend detailed macro (close up) photographs that would make for a coffee table book that will make people smile and truly enjoy your time, effort and setup. For the money, it can NOT be beat! Checkout DXOMark review of it and notice how they compare it to a $2,000 lens and yet this lens score high overall. You can't go wrong!
