I believe that the answer given about not being able to remotely control via the WiFi app is very much wrong. Here is a link on the Sony website that explains how to connect and control the CX440. http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/cscs/pmm/page1.php?area=gb&lang=en&mdl=HDR-CX440 This page says that shooting modes and zoom can be remotely controlled. I do believe that the answer about the LCD door having to be open is correct. However, if remotely operating and you do not want the door sticking out, you can flip the LCD over and close the LCD door (so the LCD is on the outside when closed). This way the camera will stay on and the door does not have to be sticking out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The LCD screen does have to remain open to record. This camera does not have the ability to be controlled remotely by the our app.
