• Sub-base is non-directional it should not matter where it is placed as long as the wireless signal can reach it.

• We placed ours at the rear of the room behind our couch and it works perfectly.

• Directions say in front, but I don't think it really matters. It is a front port on the sub. So if you are wanting to bounce it off the wall, it would need to be turned backwards.
