“draining charged battery while it's in idle situation . I have Sony camcorder hdr-cx280e which comes with battery model no. np-fv30. I am not using this camcorder frequently,It used occasionally.Now my question is that ,I put this camcorder with full charged after using it.but,if I used this camcorder after 1 or 2month, the battery is discharged.So,how can I retain battery into this camcorder So,I can get full charged even after long period of idleness of battery. So, pls guide us.”

A rechargeable battery will slowly discharge over time even without being used. If you plan on storing the camera for extended periods of time I would suggest to fully discharge the battery. When you know you will be using the camcorder, charge the battery the night before. That way you will know for certain you have a fully charged battery.

I would advise you to place the battery in a dry, cool place. Detach the battery from the camcorder whenever you are not using it to maintain optimum power. I would suggest recharging the battery first before using it again. Mitch
