Yes the NP-V50 has a 15% capacity increase over the predecessor NP-FH50 battery . Be aware the V series battery will not fit into the H series wall charger that comes with the camera due to the side clips. might we suggest the BC-TRV Travel Charger as it will Charge most Sony V series, P series or H series Batteries.
