“I am confused about the use of microphone. Does it turn off or on upon pressing the button on the back of it. The manual says it is a multifunctional button. I am more concerned about it being switched off during pressing. Thanks,”

No need to push the button. You can speak and hear without touching the button. I think the button is when you wish to mute yourself.
