Is this compatible with the a7ii? null

No Look at the size difference between the 50 and the 100.

Documentation for the α7ii plainly states it uses the NP-FW50 battery. Why then do you look at the NP-FZ100? The NP-FZ100 costs more and won't fit your camera.

Yes, but make sure the lens used can be balance, its all about the combination of weight distribution and size of the overall setup. example, any A7 series works like a charm with something like the 20mm 1.8.. but if you add the 70-200mm is a no go.
