You need individual cards if multiple people want to play online on the same console.

It's only good for one username, which means only that users saves would be stored online, only that user could play online multiplayer, and only that player would get free games and discounts. But there's nothing stopping you from all being one person online.

I card for system. If different online accounts for online play then need separate cards.

Each PlayStation account will need their own card. If everyone using the PlayStation has different PS accounts they will need an individual card.
