• There have been reports that the Sony VR can function on personal computers, but the caveat is the USB must be plugged in to the PlayStation 4 in order for the interface to work. The Sony VR uses HDMI cables to connect, but the VR is still proprietary to only function when connected to the PS4 via a USB cord. So to answer the question, I think it’s best to say the Sony VR is designed to only function with a PS4. There are ways to expand its usage to other venues, but you will still need a PS4 to get it to work. Hope this helps
