Here's my Battery Life / Play-Time experience after 4 months of use : My experience has been that the least "full-charge" play-time that you can get out of one of these speakers is somewhere between 13 to 16 hours. I've been giving my speakers a full (maximum) 4 hour charge AFTER fully discharging them, and I plan on giving them at least 10 FULL charge/discharge cycles before I ever "short-charge" them "on-the-fly". - Follow the instructions and charge the speaker(s) right-out-of-the-box! - NO MORE THAN 4 HOURS EVER. - The charging indicator light should always shut off in 2 to 3 hours of charging. - I got over 19 hours of play-time out of the first charge on one speaker and over 17 hours on the second one. = YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY depending on: your charging discipline, volume level usage and other environmental factors like heat and humidity, etc., etc., etc. ---> NOTE: I haven't tried playing them continuously from fully charged to fully discharged, yet (playing them 1 to 3 CDs at a time and then letting them sit for several hours or even days may allow for some battery charge "recovery", thus extending play-time). ... AND, I'm not playing them at ear-splitting volume levels. - They sound great when played just loud enough to fill the space in which you are using them.

I jus know I use it a few times while I'm cooking and then especially wen we're at the beach which we r there all day. Then I had to charge it. I only charged it 3xs n I've had it the begiiof this summer.
