• No. Unfortunately i do not believe the speaker would work well in a machine shop. This works great at hom or outside on the patio.

• I don't have the speaker shown but I do have the SRS speakers. I use them in my work shed with large saws and other power machinery. The sound can be heard out the door and throughout my back yard. My guess is the smaller speaker shown with your question would not be loud enough. I highly recommend the SRS series.
