• I have 2 of these, and they both play stereo. If you have more than one, you can use one as the left channel, and one as the right, and have more separation between channels, but on their own they will play stereo, with the left channel coming from the left side and right channel coming from the right side.

• Yes you need two speakers. There wouldn't be a point to left and right sound from the same speaker would there? It would just sound choppy not directional left and right.
