Hi Dan, thank you for your question. We highly recommend using the supplied antenna bundled with this AV Receiver. We cannot guarantee its operation when using a third-party antenna. ~Earl

Please try again later.Since I use a TERK amplified FM antenna with a coax F connector on it, I have decided not to purchase this Sony receiver because it will not accept my high quality FM antenna. I have decided to purchase a different brand. Seems stupid for Sony to say, put the enclosed antenna near a window when my audio equipment is 25 ft. from a window. Sony really screwed themselves with losing sales because of installing this pin based non standard FM antenna jack. Why not give customers a standard F connector? Sony says they cannot guarantee a third party antenna - well an antenna is an antenna, they must think buyers are dumb.
